How to use

  1. Choose your exam and the document (photo, signature, thumb or declaration). Pick Custom size if your form lists its own numbers.
  2. Tap the box and pick the photo from your gallery or camera. Use the original photo, not a WhatsApp copy.
  3. NeoKit crops, resizes, sets the DPI and searches for the highest quality that lands inside the KB range.
  4. Check the green ticks for size, dimensions and DPI, then tap Download and upload it on the portal.

UPSC FAQs from earlier cycles mention 20–300 KB and 350–1000 px. The current portal instructions (20–200 KB photo, 20–100 KB signature) are used here. The output size we produce (600×600 photo, 500×500 signature) sits inside both ranges.

Tips for a photo that passes first time

  • Stand 1–1.5 m from a plain white or light wall, facing a window. Daylight beats tube lights.
  • Hold the phone at eye level. Shoulders straight, both ears visible, no cap or dark glasses.
  • Shoot a little wider than needed: NeoKit crops to the exact frame.
  • For signatures, use plain white paper and a black pen, then run the photo through the Signature Cleaner.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The resizing runs inside your browser on your own phone or computer. The photo never leaves your device, and the tool works even if you go offline after the page loads.

Why does the portal check DPI?

Some portals read the resolution stored in the JPEG header to check physical size (for example 3.5 × 4.5 cm). NeoKit writes the exam’s DPI into the file, and that value never changes how the photo looks.

My signature is tiny like 140×60 px and still under 10 KB. Will it be rejected?

Simple images such as signatures can be smaller than a minimum like 10 KB even at top quality. NeoKit then adds a harmless comment block inside the JPEG to reach the minimum, and the pixels do not change.

Which exams are supported?

Presets with verified official specs: UPSC CSE, IBPS PO, SSC CGL. Other presets are marked "unverified", and you can always enter custom sizes.

Can I use an iPhone HEIC photo?

Safari on iPhone can open HEIC directly. If your browser cannot, set Camera → Formats → Most Compatible, or share the photo as JPG first.
